so I've lost all respect this girl in my grade, who I used to look up to as an... grade model.
why? because I've found out that she cheats.
it's not that she's stupid because she's amaaaazing at speeches, and her sister went to harvard (so the smart genes must run in her family? LOL I dont know), and she does good on essays, so obviously, I don't really get why she even needs to cheat on exams and stuff.
Must be the pressure? because of her sister's reputation?

today in physics, my friend was like WOW YOU HAVE REALLY PROMINENT DOUBLE EYELIDS
and then some other girl asked me if they were real

lolwtf?? though apparently some other girl in my school had gone back to korea and gotten double eyelid surgery or something hm.

it's amazing that I actually like the stories we've studied this year in english lol
my teacher has this... morbid fascination with dead and crazy people so all the stories are pretty... interesting I guess haha
we're studying young goodman brown, and the good earth atm and the good earth a really good book, shows the corruption of money really well * v *

not looking forward to the scarlet letter though, since that's apparently the most boring book in the world /sobsob

I was panicking half the day because people kept telling me that my physics quiz was a physics UNIT FINAL WHEN I DIDNT STUDY WTF (turned out it was just a quiz after all)
then it turned out to be extremely easy and I wondered why I even worried. though a lot of people were telling me that it was hard, so I dunno, maybe I read some questions wrong or something. or they're lying lol

I seriously don't get why I seem to do better on tests/quizzes I don't even bother studying for.

so yesterday was my school's awards ceremony (which uses grades from last year...)
and they told us all the highest averages in each grade.

and the gr. 12 average was 99.4%. NINETY NINE POINT FOUR PERCENT. And this guy was an full IB student too, and he got 44/45 for IB which is... RIDICULOUSLY hard, considering half of the IB courses offered at my school are basically 1st-3rd year university classes, and if you do good in IB you can basically skip your first year.
And I'm just like. ...WHY DID THIS GUY GO TO CORNELL LOL??? why not harvard or... yale?
because he wasn't just extremely smart, he was pretty active in the school too, i.e. vice president.

but mostly I'm wondering how the hell people do this /sob
the highest averages for gr. 10 & 11 were 98.something too, and I just feel extremely stupid atm since mine was like... 91% lol;;;

well my dad was bothering me about how I'm going to fail biology and chemistry because I don't know all these fancy terms he's mentioning, and the fact that I apparently balance equations... wrong.

so he's like
IF YOU CAN SOLVE THIS THING IN 30 MINS I WILL GIVE YOU $10 /LAUGHLAUGH
and since I was pretty pissed that he thinks I'm THAT STUPID I said
I WILL SOLVE THIS IN LESS THAN 5 MINS WAIT AND SEE

so I did lol

but he was in disbelief and said I just guessed the answer, so I said I'll solve another one, and he's like OK IF YOU SOLVE THIS ONE I GIVE YOU I WILL GIVE YOU ANOTHER $10
and he was so sure I wouldn't get it  since it was some kind of equation that I shouldn't have seen before... the only ones I've learned to solve are like. decomposition, synthesis, replacement, and combustion.
BUT THEN I SOLVED IT THROUGH LOGIC LOL

I may not know the "proper" way to do equations (he tried to explain but I thought it was more complicated, and it required memorization of the periodic table, and... why should I memorize it when they give it to me on exams lol) BUT I CAN STILL SOLVE THEM DAD LOL CHEM WAS LIKE MY BEST SUBJECT NEXT TO BIO

I dont know whether to laugh at my dad or think he's cute for being amazed afterwards oTL

so I decided to be an idiot and take full IB thanks to my english teacher ugh
I am now taking ten courses
oh god I'm totally gonna die this year /sobsobsob

I also checked how many credits I would have after gr. 11 and... excluding piano credits (I dont even know how to claim those... the uh... counselor lady said to copy the certificate and mail it in but... where am I supposed to mail it to???), I would have 93. I only need 100 to graduate. And since piano gives like 15, I COULD basically not take any courses in grade 12 and still pass? LOLOL

The principal had said that most people who graduate from my school have way more than 100, but this is ridiculous since uh... I'm probably gonna have 150 credits by the time I go to university wtf

and no, I cannot opt for taking less courses, because 9 of the courses I'm currently taking are mandatory, and the last one is art which I might will probably drop.

I have to write a personal essay for english on a character I've studied this year, AND I HAVE NO CLUE HOW TO WRITE ONE LOL

oh god, my livejournal is so empty, I'm amazed people are even friending me lol.

ANYWAYS so I'm high school now, and it's really fun so far!
Didn't meet.. that many new people considering like. 1/3 of the gr. 10s are from my junior high (it's a small school).

Teachers are nice and all, and amazingly, so are the juniors and seniors~
Uh, only downside is that I have to take the bus every day, and it takes around an HOUR to get to the school. So basically, sometimes I spend the whole day at school (i.e. when I leave the sun hasn't risen yet, when I get home the sun's already set).

And.. if you live in around ALberta/Manitoba you'll know it gets bloody FREEZING in the winter.. plus it turns dark really early /cry

Oh, and I tried tegaki again after uh.. 4 months. BET YOU GUYS DIDN'T EVEN KNOW I HAD A TEGAKI HUH ;D
